HydroVac Excavation For Trenching, Potholing and Daylighting (Gas System Inspection)

We are always looking to use the latest technology and equipment to expand our service offering and maximize the value we offer clients.

The newest addition to our toolkit is a HydroVac Excavation Truck, which allows us to safely, efficiently and cleanly excavate without risking damage to underground utilities. This tool can be pointed at excavation for the purpose of inspection, assessment, or trenching.

As the saying goes, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure." - and never was this more true than when it comes to gas leaks or aging gas system elements, corroding underground or otherwise out of sight.

What Is A HydroVac?

A HydroVac is what it sounds like. It uses pressurized water to dig or trench, and a vacuum to 'suck up' the slurry or mud produced. The result is a trench or hole crated without impact or a mess you typically see with an excavator.
Why Is It Useful?
We almost never perform a gas leak survey without finding leaks on commercial properties; in many cases, the value of that preventative maintenance is impossible to assess. A HydroVac allows us to - with minimal disruption - examine parts of your gas system, or even re-pipe, that are otherwise unknown unknowns.

What Can You Do With A HydroVac?

The biggest value-add from a HydroVac is going to be money saved from preventative maintenance, which can now be done with minimal disruption to your landscape, business, customers or faculty, employees, or students.
Specific uses include:
  • Pothole/daylight underground utilities without risking damage
  • Provide a less disruptive, cleaner means of excavation
  • Provide service pits
  • Create trenches
  • Install shoring
  • Tie-in pipelines
  • Installation of Anodes

What Systems Can Be Maintained With A HydroVac?

More than your gas lines. A HydroVac can be used to trench or explore any subterranean lines, including:
  • Gas Lines
  • Water Lines
  • Sewer Lines
  • Storm Drain Lines
  • Electrical Conduit
  • Conduit Banks
  • Gas Leaks/Water Leaks

This truck is a 'one stop shop' for safe excavation work and lets us access remote job locations easier.

Whether it's Remote Methane Leak Detection, or our infra-red technologies, or our new Ditch Witch HydroVac - we invest in the very best tools for our skilled technicians, to deliver the best service to you.
